Idletymes offers a unique blend of hard driving, straight forward bluegrass music with tight, high harmonies as well as an impressive portfolio of original songs. This band has been around since 1985 and is currently made up of four talented musicians with deep bluegrass roots. In 2003 they placed 5th in the SPBGMA international band contest in Nashville, TN.
Glenn Jarvis (fiddle, mandolin and harmony vocals) Glen has performed with many established bands over the years and is well known around central / southern Ohio for his traditional fiddle playing style.
Craig Jarvis (bass and harmony vocals) He can do it all, Craig sings tenor as well as bass harmonies and provides the rock solid bass rhythm that drives the band's sound.
Ronnie Seebaugh (banjo and harmony vocals) He is one of the best banjo players you will ever hear. His mastery of the instrument will leave you spellbound!
Rounding out the group is original member Chris Long (guitar and vocals) He is a multi-instrumentalist whom not only is a distinguished lead singer, but is also a great songwriter. Chris' tasteful guitar work and original compositions are always enthusiastically received.
The Idletymes band hosts the Poston Lake Bluegrass Festival, in Guysville, OH. This festival is in it's 25th year. This 2 day event is located on 35 beautiful acres in southeast Ohio and is filled with outstanding entertainment.
